Used for centuries to make the famous Oaxacan tlayudas (large tortillas of the region) and for roasting tomatoes, chilies, or seeds for mole. Handmade by Mujeres del Barro Rojo in the Tlacolula Valley of Oaxaca, Mexico.

Can be used in direct flame such as on stoves and in wood-burning ovens or fireplaces. Red clay pieces will develop a natural patina with repeated use.
