Made in Italy.

Only at MARCH

A leather placemat dyed and hand painted in denim-like blue by artisans in rural Umbria. Individually stained and painted with visible brushstrokes, the placemats are designed to be water repellent and to develop a natural patina over time.

Part of a collection inspired by heritage denim by Peter Speliopoulos for MARCH; Peter Speliopoulos is a multidisciplinary artist living and working between New York and Patmos, Greece who previously worked with Christian Dior and as creative director of Cerruti Arte and Donna Karan. With a studied understanding of texture and the artistry of color, Speliopoulos creates pieces to provoke the senses. Working in leather, suede, shearling, and clay, individual pieces explore the balance between primitive and contemporary: “a respect for history with the forward motion of modern life.”

Color and tone may vary slightly as each piece is finished by hand.

Sold individually.
