A large oak dining table is draped in three layers of marbling cream chalk paint seen dripping down the wooden legs. Evoking trompe l’oeil of hand-painted furniture of the past, the lacquered finish resembles stone. The table is meticulously handmade by master artisans one piece at a time from oak veneer and engineered wood with high gloss automotive paint.
Faye Toogood is a British artist and designer with a background as editor and stylist for The World of Interiors in London. Her work is multidisciplinary and distinct with an “honesty to the rawness and irregularity of the chosen material.”
Natural irregularities are typical of the handmade process.
