Details

Made in Mexico.

Woven by women from the Cruz family in the Mixteca Baja of Oaxaca, Mexico. These women traditionally work with palm fiber inside caves to keep the fibers humid and shapeable. Typically used for hat-making, here palm fiber is adapted to create a sturdier weave to withstand mild heat (not fire) and moisture.

Weave of each trivet may vary slightly as each piece is made by hand. Palm may change slightly in coloration with age but it will maintain its strength and shape.

Sold individually.
