Produced exclusively for MARCH by the Cruz family in the Mixteca Baja of Oaxaca, Mexico.
Trivets are woven by the women from the Cruz family, who traditionally work inside humid caves to keep the palm shapeable. The material is typically used to make hats, but is here adapted to create a much sturdier weave. The pieces are strong enough to withstand mild heat (not fire) and moisture. The palm may change slightly in coloration as it ages, but will maintain its strength and shape.
