Woven by women from the Cruz family in the Mixteca Baja of Oaxaca, Mexico. These women traditionally work with palm fiber inside cavas to keep the fibers humid and shapeable. Typically used for hat-making, here palm fiber is adapated to create a sturdier weave to withstand mild heat (not fire) and moisture.
Size may vary slightly as each piece is hand-thrown and hand-glazed. Palm may change slightly in coloration with age but will its maintain strength and shape.
