Solid steel floral scissors from the flower fields of Fukuoka. Made in Sanjo Niigata, Japan by Toyama Hamono, a traditional shears manufacturer hand-making secateurs and scissors since 1861. Based on the manufacturing methods of Japanese swords, floral scissors are designed for precision in floral design, pruning soft stems and houseplants, or snipping culinary herbs.
The scissors are best held with the index finger on the outside to control pressure. Each tool is stamped with the characters hidehisa which during the Edo period in Japan, represented superior quality and craftsmanship and has become a Toyama Hamono signature.
